MOSCOW, Idaho— Idaho Women's Tennis will make its way to Stockton, Calif., for the Pacific Invitational from January 30 – January 31. On Friday, Idaho will match up against the Pacific Tigers at 1 p.m. and the Nevada Wolfpack on Saturday at 12 p.m., both matches can be seen

Last weekend, the Vandals earned their first win of the season with a 4-3 win over New Mexico State. The Black and Gold swept the doubles point by winning two out of three matches.
Jessica Matthews and
Naomi Schraeder, along with
Hanna Koprowska and
Ida Johansson each won their matches 6-4. When the doubles point was secured,
Valentina Rodas and
Chenyue Xu were tied 5-5 before moving on to singles.
In singles play, Matthews, Johansson and Mariam Hatem, each finished the tournament in the win column. Matthews and Johansson took each of their match victories in two sets. Matthews finished 6-3, 6-1 and Johansson finished 6-3, 6-4. Hatem on the other hand, fought through all three sets against her opponent. With the initial loss in her first set, 2-6, Hatem battled back scoring 7-5 and 6-1 to walk away with the win.
As the season continues and the play is intensified, Idaho will take every match as an opportunity to find its stride and perfect technique. The recent win over the Aggies will be used as motivation for the Vandals as they head into the tournament this weekend.
