MOSCOW, Idaho - After a historic win over the defending FCS national champions, Idaho Football has earned a series of national awards from college football analysts nationwide. On Monday, the first came from Stats Perform FCS, which named the Vandals its National Championship Subdivision Team of the Week.

Idaho earned the nod by way of one of the most magical moments in program history when Joshua Wood powered across the goal line on a game-winning two-point conversion attempt with the clock showing all zeroes to secure the program's first-ever win over the #1 program in the nation. The senior quarterback earned Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week honors for tallying over 380 all-purpose yards, three touchdowns, and the game-winning carry.

Talking about the win, senior analyst Craig Haley wrote in his analysis:

"In gaining its first win, Idaho became the first unranked team to beat an FCS No. 1 since the spring 2021 season. With the Vandals trailing 34-27, quarterback Joshua Wood threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Jezioro on the game's final play, then followed with a two-point run. Wood (356 yards of total offense, three total TDs) and Jezioro (six receptions, 147 yards, two TDs) fueled the offense, while linebacker Cruz Hepburn had a game-high 13 tackles. Coach Thomas Ford's 1-4 squad ended defending FCS champion MSU's 19-game winning streak."

The nod from Stats Perform is one of just many coming in for Idaho after one of the biggest wins in school history. Earlier on Monday, the Pop-Tarts Bowl in Orlando named the Vandals its National Team of the Week for the feat.
