MOSCOW, Idaho– The Vandals capped a competitive weekend at the Pacific Invitational 1-1, which moved their overall record to 2-3. On Friday, Idaho won 4-3 over Pacific before falling to Nevada on Saturday, 1-4.
Idaho opened the weekend with a tightly contested win over the Pacific Tigers, taking early control with a strong doubles performance. Juniors Jessica Matthews and Naomi Schraeder defeated their opponents 6-2, continuing their strong season in doubles play. On court two, senior Valentina Rodas and sophomore Chenyue Xu earned a 6-1 victory against the Tigers. Idaho's junior and sophomore duo, Ida Johansson and Hanna Koprowska battled through a tiebreak to add a 7-6 win for the Vandals. In singles, Idaho earned three victories to seal the match. Xu beat her opponent 6-3 and 0-6. Johansson won 7-5 and 6-2, and senior Mariam Hatem won 6-2 and 6-0.

The Vandals returned to action on Saturday against the Nevada Wolfpack and continued to compete across the lineup. The Black and Gold claimed the doubles point with wins in two of the three matches. Matthews and Schraeder won 6-3, and Johansson and Koprowska won 6-4. Moving into singles play, Nevada displayed a strong performance, winning four of the six matches. The remaining two matches were unfinished, and the contest ended 4-1 in favor of Nevada. Despite the loss, Idaho's split weekend shows resilience as they continue to gain experience from non-conference opponents.
