MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandal men's golf team opens spring play at the Loyola Intercollegiate, Sunday through Tuesday at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona.
The tournament will tee off at 6:45 a.m. Pacific for 18 holes on all three days on the par 72, 7,013-yard course.
Four of the 20 teams in the field sit inside the top 125 in the
Scoreboard by Clippd rankings. N.C. State leads the pack at 77th in the rankings, with Idaho coming in at 105 after one of the best fall seasons in program history, including two tournament wins and record performances. The field includes fellow Big Sky team Northern Colorado (225).
Josh McCartain will play as the No. 1 player after recording a stroke average of 69.5 in the fall and finishing in the top 15 in all four tournaments in the fall.
Sam Johnson is the No. 2 spot on the lineup after finishing the fall with a 70.8 stroke average and taking home medalist honors at the Dolenc Invitation.
Joe Sykes ended the fall with a T13 finish at the Oregon State Invitational and a stroke average of right at 71.0, he will play in the third position. Freshman
Henrik Koglin earned his way into the lineup after a solid spring earning the No. 4 spot and
Dalton Dean will play at the No. 5 spot after closing the spring with a 72.1 scoring average.
Charley Simpson will play as an individual for the tournament.
