MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandal men's golf team is back in action Monday and Tuesday at The Watney, hosted by Fresno State at the San Joaquin Country Club in Fresno.

The tournament is the second of the spring for the Vandals as they look to build on one of the best falls in program history.

Josh McCartain is back at the No. 1 spot after continuing his outstanding play this season. He finished sixth at the Loyola Intercollegiate, finishing 10-under for the tournament. He has a 69.4 stroke average for the season.

Right on McCartain's heels is fellow senior Sam Johnson who finished 10th at the Loyola Intercollegiate with a score of eight-under. He will play at the No. 2 spot and hopes to pick up his second individual medalist honor of the year.

Freshman Henrik Koglin is playing well this spring and finished even-par last tournament. He will play at the third spot. Dalton Dean will play fourth in the lineup and fellow senior Joe Sykes will look to rebound after a tough tournament, he rounds out the lineup at No. 5.

Sophomore Carter Frisby won a playoff to earn the individual spot at the tournament for the Vandals.

The field includes a solid group of mid-major programs from the WAC, WCC, Big Sky, Big West and Mountain West.
Pacific is the highest ranked team according to Scoreboard at 59 but UC San Diego is solid at 89th, but no team has won as many tournaments as the Vandals this season (two).

The course at San Joaquin is a par 71 and will play at 7,051 yards. The field will play 36 holes Monday, followed by 18 on Tuesday.
