MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Men's Tennis team are looking to extended their home win streak this week as they look to take on UTRGV and UC San Diego
The Vandals will match up with UTRGV on Friday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. in the P1FCU Kibbie Dome. This will be the third time these two teams have faced each other, with the last skirmish resulting in a 4-2 Vandal Victory on the road.
The Vaqueros are off to a slow start in their season as they currently sit on a 1-9 record and have yet to play any matches in the Southland Conference.
In UTRGV's most recent match, the Vaqueros dropped their match against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 2-4. Their wins came from the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots. UTRGV currently holds winning records at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles this season.
The Vandals will continue their Valentine's Day weekend in the Kibbie Dome, Sunday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m. against UC San Diego.
The last time the Vandals met the Tritons, Idaho emerged victorious, resulting in a final score of 5-2. Idaho holds a 1-0 record over UC San Diego.
The Tritons have entered this season onboarding four new freshmen. They bring two five-stars, Abhinav and Prathinav Chunduru, plus four-stars Andrew Beceiro and Trevor Nguyen.
In UC San Diego's latest match, it took a 5-2 victory over Pomona-Pitzer, only dropping in the No.1 and No.6 singles spots.
