FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Maya Salvitti and Amelia Ward represented Idaho at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships this week, competing against some of the top divers in the region for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Salvitti competed in the women's 3-meter and platform events, continuing her strong postseason run after capturing conference titles earlier this season. Salvitti placed eighth in the platform with a score of 468.80, finishing just five points shy of qualifying for the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. She also turned in a strong performance in the 3-meter event, placing 12th with a score of 558.60.
Ward competed in the women's 1-meter event, recording a score of 193.80 in the preliminary round while gaining valuable postseason experience against a competitive field. The performance caps off a strong season for Ward, who earlier recorded a top-10 finish at the conference championships with a score of 226.00.
With the conclusion of the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships, the 2025–26 season comes to an end for the Idaho Vandals swimming and diving team. The Vandals wrap up the year with multiple strong performances throughout the season, highlighted by conference success, record-book marks, and postseason appearances. The Black and Gold will now shift its focus to the offseason as the program begins preparing for the 2026–27 season.
