MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Men's Tennis team will open Big Sky Conference play against in-state rival Idaho State on March 14th at 12 p.m.
This will be the 13th matchup against the Bengals. Last time out, Idaho State defeated the Vandals in a 2-5 match, but the Vandals hold the overall record at 8-4.
The Bengals are coming off a weekend playing at the Boise State Spring Invitational, where they split the weekend 2-1 with wins against Montana and Gonzaga, and a loss against Boise State. Idaho State has played in one Big Sky Conference match prior to the tournament, where they played NAU and fell with a score of 1-6. Idaho State's most recent win over No. 65 Gonzaga provided Head Coach Oliver Good his first win over a ranked opponent with the 4-3 upset.
Sacramento State is coming off a win against Illinois after competing in the Golden State Invitational. In the matchup, the Hornets took two of the three doubles matches. Sacramento State has also started off Big Sky play with a positive record, taking their first match against Weber State with a 5-2 victory.
The Vandals are looking to find themselves back in the win column after a tough weekend at the Boise State Spring Invitational. The Idaho Men's Tennis Team will have a busy week with matches against Montana and Montana State queuing up shortly after.
