2012 Outdoor: Hastings competed in the distance events for Idaho as a true freshman … competed in three distance events at the WAC Outdoor Championships with an eighth-place 1500m (4:00.19), ninth-place 800m (1:55.19) and a 15th-place 5000m (16:04.39) … ran a career-best 3:58.35 and finished fifth in the 1500m at the Cougar Invitational on April 21 … took 24th in the 1500m at the Oregon Twilight on May 5 with a 3:59.13 … Spring WAC All-Academic honoree.

2012 Indoor: Hastings was an All-WAC performer for Idaho in the distance events as a true freshman … took sixth in the mile run at the WAC Indoor Championships with a time of 4:21.75 to score his first career point and take Second-Team All-WAC honors … also finished 13th in the 3000m at the WAC meet with a time of 9:01.36 … ran a career-best mile of 4:19.10 to finish 11th at the UW Open on Feb. 12.

2011 Cross Country: Hastings took 63rd at the Inland Northwest Cross Country Classic with a time of 20:33.2.

High School: Hastings was a four-time Washington state qualifier in track and field at Colville High School … as a senior in 2011, he took fifth in the 3200m (9:51.88) and sixth in the 1600m (4:30.59) at the Washington 1A State Championships … he was also the Washington 1A Regional 6/7 champion in the 1600m (4:33.82) and 3200m (10:05.30) … took third in the 1600m (4:33.94) at the Washington 2A District 7 Championships as a junior and went on to finish 15th in the event at the Washington 2A state meet with a time of 4:34.42 … also ran the anchor leg of Colton’s 2010 2A District 7 champion 4x400m relay and helped lead the team to a fifth-place state finish in the event … was a four-time state qualifier in cross country … led Colville to a Washington 1A second-place team finish in 2010 after taking sixth overall with a 16:13.7 on the 5000m course … as a junior, helped CHS to a seventh-place finish at the Washington 2A meet after taking 12th in 16:27 over 5000m … finished 44th at the Washington 2A state meet in 2008 and 48th as a freshman in 2007.

Personal: He is the son of Gary and Wendy Hastings … has one brother, Jake, who competes in cross country/track and field at Central Washington … intends to major in Business at Idaho.
