LEWISTON, Idaho - The University of Idaho men's tennis team returned to LCSC to defeat them for the second time this season, 6-1, beating them by a larger margin than the first meeting.
"It was a motivating win," tennis coach Katrina Perlman said.
The Vandals, 6-1, notched their fifth consecutive victory. Their only loss of the season has been against a nationally-ranked team.
"We're continuing our successful season with another win at LCSC," Fabian Dummett said.
UI took the doubles point from the Warriors, a feat the Vandals weren't able to pull off at the Jan. 29 meeting.
For No. 3 doubles, things were clicking for Hector Mucharraz and Kevin Konishi, as they won against Phil McKeague and Marek Kufel, 8-5.
"We had a break-through with Hector and Kevin's doubles," Perlman said. "They came together at the right time."
At the No. 1 spot, Brad Lum-Tucker defeated Dimitri Verabyou, 6-4, 6-3. The last time these two faced off, the match went LCSC's way.
"Brad had a good singles win," Perlman said. "He avenged his loss from the previous LC match."
Chris Faulman and Borja Molas battled it out at the No. 2 spot. But Faulman held Molas off, winning, 6-4, 6-4.
Hector Mucharraz quickly finished off Marek Kufel, 6-3, 6-1, to be the first singles match finished.
Seth Banks found himself down 4-1 in the first match, before coming back to beat Guilherme Martins, 6-4, 6-3.
At the No. 6 spot, James Cromwell kept McKeague at bay, defeating him, 6-1, 6-1.
The Vandals return to the LCSC Tennis Center to take on University of Alberta, 6 p.m., March 5.
