POMONA, Calif. - The University of Idaho won their second match in a row by defeating Cal Poly Pomona, 7-2.
"We're making great strides and improving. Our confidence is building, going in to conference," Fabian Dummett said.
The score equals nine points due to the format of Division II play.
For doubles, UI took wins at the No. 1 and 3 spots. Brad Lum-Tucker and Chris Faulman took the win by beating twins Alan and Andy Chang, 8-5. Hector Mucharraz and Kevin Konishi easily took care of Seth Lewkow and Brandon Clingan, 8-2.
For singles, UI took five of the six singles points. Among those wins was Faulman defeating Andy Chang, 6-1, 6-2, and Seth Banks shutting-out Daniel Chang, 6-0, 6-0.
"Seth and Chris played pretty well; they played well from the beginning, they took charge. They got it done," tennis coach Katrina Perlman said.
The Vandals finish up their road trip Sunday by playing UC Irvine at noon.
