FRESNO, Calif. ? The University of Idaho men's tennis team struggled against two national ranked WAC rivals falling to #40 Fresno State and # 60 Hawaii during the weekend.
Idaho lost to the Bulldogs 6-1 on Sunday and was swept by Hawaii 7-0 on Saturday. The Vandals close out their conference schedule 1-5 this season.
“Both Fresno State and Hawaii are nationally ranked programs who are playing very well right now,” University of Idaho Director of Tennis Jeff Beaman said. “We were competitive in a lot of matches and we are continuing to show improvement as a program.”
The lone point for Idaho during the two matches came from Stanislav Glukhov as he upset Rudolf Siwy of Fresno State in singles play. Siwy went into the match ranked 64th in the nation in singles.
Idaho is in action against Portland State at home on Saturday.
