University of Idaho Vandal football players Korey Toomer and
Tyrone Novikoff are headed to Little Rock, Ark., for the Players All-Star
Classic – a college football all-star game that pits the North vs. the South.
Novikoff (Curlew, Wash.) was a 2011 team captain during his
senior season with the Vandals. He started 25 consecutive games for the Vandals
and played in 46 during his four-year career at offensive tackle.
Toomer, who originally signed with the Vandals out of Shadow
Ridge High School, joined the Vandals in 2009 after two seasons at Arizona
Western College. He played in 2009 before redshirting in 2010. He came back in
2011 and earned a starting linebacker role that morphed into part-time work at
fullback. He was voted the team MVP for his 2011 season, which includes 68
total tackles as well as three touchdowns and one two-point conversion.
The game, which is at Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium
AT&T Field, is Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. (Pacific).
The North team is coached by Martin Bayless. It will be broadcast on
Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast and Cox Sports TV.
