Laudon will be a Vandal

MOSCOW - Idaho men's tennis coach Jeff Beaman has the first piece of next year's recruiting class in place, as Sam Laudon, a left-hander from Austin, Texas, will be a Vandal next fall.

Laudon is a three-star recruit according to tennisrecruiting.net, and is ranked by the site as the No. 388 recruit in the nation. He is also ranked No. 47 in the Gulf States, and No. 39 in Texas. Laudon will study engineering at Idaho.

"We're real excited for Sam to be joining the team," Beaman said. "It's great to add a strong left-hander to the team, and another engineering student. Sam is a highly ranked recruit and I expect his success to carry over to the collegiate level."

Laudon played line 1 singles and doubles at Lake Travis High School, as the team was a Texas 4A State finalist. He also won the Boys 18 2011 B Draw Houston Superchamp Major.
