Vandals swept at BYU

PROVO, Utah – The Idaho men's tennis team was swept 7-0 at BYU on Saturday.

Jose Bendeck and Cristobal Ramos Salazar gave Idaho a chance to win the doubles point with an 8-7(7-2) win at the top spot but BYU came back to win 8-7(7-4) at No. 2 and 8-6 at No. 3 to get the first point of the match.

Odon Barta was the only Vandal to force three sets in singles, falling 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 4, while Bendeck, Artemiy Nikitin, Ramos Salazar, Cesar Torres and Sam Laudon were beaten in straight-sets.

The Vandals fall to 5-8 on the season with the loss, while BYU improves to 5-7. The Vandals return to action Mar. 17 and 18 with matches at Pacific and Sacramento State.
