Hausmann, who will graduate from Gymnasium Nottuln this spring, will join the Vandals this fall after a stellar junior career in Europe.
“We are extremely impressed with Sophie's golf game, academic success and carefree personality,” coach Lisa Johnson said. “She will be a great addition to our team and will help us continue to compete at a high level.”
Hausmann competed for the Dusseldorf club team for five years and currently has a handicap of +1.9. Last year, she second in the state ladies championship, fifth in the girls individual championship, 15th in the German Ladies championship, tied for fifth in the Scottish Juniors, and tied for ninth in the Irish Juniors.
In 2013, she was the state ladies and state girls champion, and was third in the state girls in 2011 and 2012.
“Sophie brings tons of international experience, including being a member of the German national team,” Johnson said. “She is very self-aware about the strengths and weaknesses of her game, and has a strong knowledge of the game.
“She will outwork everyone to reach her goals.”
