HONOLULU, Hawaii – A long road trip has to start somewhere. The Idaho soccer team (1-1-1) kicks off its seven-game stretch away from home with a trip to Hawaii (3-0-1) to take on the Rainbow Wahine.

PREVIEW – Idaho drew with Gonzaga last time out, 2-2. The Vandals needed to come back from deficit twice to earn the draw, a challenge this year's squad was certainly up for.
Clara Gomez scored the first goal for the Vandals, leveling the score in the 48
th minute.
Kayla Watanabe then showed off some late-game heroics, leveling the score at two apiece in the 88
th minute. The game was played in front of a record crowd of 1109 fans.
MATCHUP – Idaho is 2-6-0 all-time against Hawaii, including a 1-2-0 mark in Hawaii. The last meeting came in 2011, when both were members of the Western Athletics Conference. Idaho came out on top that day, 4-2.
SISTER-SISTER – Freshman
Sophia French will be taking on her twin sister, Lillie, when the Vandals meet the Rainbow Wahine on Thursday evening.
ROAD WARRIORS – The Vandals will play seven straight games away from home, missing the majority of the month of September. The stretch includes the final five games of the non-conference schedule and the first two Big Sky games of the season.
THE STREAK IS OVER – Idaho saw its 14-game unbeaten streak snapped on Friday afternoon at South Dakota, falling to the Coyotes 1-0. The Vandals conceded the lone goal in the 86
th minutes, marking the first time in over 1400 minutes that the Vandals trailed in a game. The streak ends as the second longest in Big Sky history.
RANKINGS – Idaho was picked by the Big Sky coaches to repeat in 2016, after receiving five first place votes and garnering 92 of a possible 100 points. The Vandals are also ranked 91
st in the nation in RPI.
