THE RECORDS
Both teams are 1-0 after winning their openers. The Vandals went to the ground and used a stout defense to subdue Montana State, 20-17, while the Huskies rolled past Rutgers, 48-13.
THE COACHES
PAUL PETRINO is in his fourth season at Idaho. While it is his first head coaching job, it is not Petrino's first stint at Idaho. His coaching career began at Carroll College (his alma mater, 1989). From Carroll, he went to Idaho where he coached running back, receivers and special teams from 1992-94. From Idaho it was on to Utah State (1995-97), Louisville (1998-99), Southern Mississippi (2000-02), Louisville (2003-06), Atlanta Falcons (2007), Arkansas (2008-09), Illinois (2010-11) and Arkansas (2012).
CHRIS PETERSEN is in his third season at head coach at Washington after eight season as head coach at Boise State. He was an assistant at BSU for five season prior to taking the head job. He began his coaching career at UC Davis (his alma mater) before stints as an assistant at Pitt, Portland State and Oregon.
SATURDAY'S GAME
Saturday's game is the first of three in a row on the road for the Vandals. After playing at Seattle, they go across the border to play Washington State at Pullman before heading to Las Vegas for a Sept. 24 date with UNLV.
THE SERIES
This is the 40th game in a series dates to 1900 with Washington winning the majority of the games – 34-2-2. They played most recently in 2009 with the Huskies winning 42-23 in what would be Idaho's second Humanitarian Bowl championship season.

The game is on the Pac-12 Network with JB Long calling the play by play, Glenn Parker providing the analysis and and Jill Savage reporting from the sidelines.
