MOSCOW, Idaho- Idaho women's golf signed two international prep standouts to National Letters of Intent, head coach Lisa Johnson announced Thursday. No-Hsin "Eddie" Hsu and Wei-Chia "Vicky" Tsai, both natives of Taiwan, will join the Vandals for the 2018-19 season as freshmen.

"Vicky and Eddie will bring great spirit and energy to the team," said head coach Lisa Johnson. "They're elated for the opportunity to represent the Vandal family and earn a first-class education in the United States. Both players bring a wealth of international playing experience, which will help Vandal golf continue to flourish."

No-Hsin "Eddie" Hsu
Hsinchu, Taiwan

Hsu attends National Chu-Pei Senior High School in her hometown of Hsinchu, Taiwan.

She spent much of her summer playing in the United States, earning two top-10 finishes in 2017 on the Southern California PGA Junior Tour. Hsu averages 235 yards off the tee, hitting 70 percent of her fairways and 58 percent of greens in regulation. Once on the green, she averages 30 putts per round.

"Eddie's swing is smooth and powerful," Johnson said. "She has strong fundamentals and excellent feel for the short game. She has a can-do attitude and great competitiveness."

Johnson recalls Hsu being "the first recruit to track me down in the parking lot following completion of a junior event to ask about attending Idaho." Hsu had Johnson's attention after finishing third at the 2017 West College Combine in Beaumont, Calif.

Off the course, Hsu enjoys volleyball, badminton, working out, listening to music and shopping.

Wei-Chia "Vicky" Tsai
New Taipei City, Taiwan

Tsai attends Taipei Hanhu High School in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. She led the Dragons to the 2016 Taiwan High School team championship.

Tsai broke through at the ANNIKA Invitational in April, winning the Under-18 division of the elite international competition at Mission Hills Resort in Dongguan, China. She tore through the final two rounds, shooting under par in each to finish the tournament at even-par 216. Tsai continued her success Stateside, at tournaments in Southern California throughout the summer.

"Vicky has recently undergone a swing change to help her be more consistent and confident in her technique, especially under pressure," said Johnson. "She is a hard worker with lofty goals and understands the importance of fine tuning her technical and mental game."

She averages 240 yards on drives and hits 80 percent of her fairways, while reaching the green in regulation 60 percent of the time.

Away from golf, Tsai enjoys playing badminton. Her career aspirations include becoming a sports agent.
