DALLAS, Texas – University of Idaho sophomore
Enrique Marin had his best round as a Vandal to tie for first in the opening round of the Bob Sitton Invitational. Marin had five birdies and two bogeys en route to a three-under 68 Tuesday.
While the first round was suspended because of darkness, Marin and his two co-leaders appear headed into the second around atop the leader board.
"I was really excited to see Enrique put together a really solid round," coach
David Nuhn said.
Ethan Atherstone had a six-over 77 and
Ryan Porch turned in a nine-over 80.
Brock Anderson was at 88 for the first round and
Hayden Ritter at 90.
"I felt like we competed really hard," Nuhn said. "The guys hung in there for 18 holes – even though for a couple of them it was rough at times.
"If we just stay patient and identify things we need to work on, we'll play a better round (Wednesday)."
