LOGAN, Utah—Idaho's season-long road trip came to a close on Sunday. The Vandal men's tennis team fell 7-0 at No. 49 Utah State, ending a seven match stint on the road.
The Vandals struggles in doubles continued. Idaho dropped the point for the fifth straight match. Utah State gained the early advantage with wins on the No. 1 and No. 2 court. Play on the No. 3 court was unfinished.
The Aggies carried over the momentum into singles play. USU won six of the seven singles matches in straight sets.
Mark Kovacs was the lone Vandal to win a set on the day. He took his second set at No. 1 7-6 (7), forcing a tie-break. USU's Jamie Barajas won the point, finishing the tie-breaker up 10-6.
Idaho will return home for its next two matches. The Vandals will get back into Big Sky play with Northern Colorado (Apr. 1) and Montana (Apr. 2).
