LEWISTON, Idaho—The Idaho men's tennis team picked up its fifth consecutive win on Wednesday night. The Vandals defeated Radford, 7-0, improving to 6-2 on the season.
Idaho began the night with a strong doubles showing.
Mark Kovacs and
Carlos Longhi Neto opened the evening with Idaho's first win. The duo scored a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Idaho closed the doubles point out with wins at No. 2 and No.3, going up 1-0.
Longhi Neto got the Vandals going in singles play, opening the night with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3.
Felipe Fonseca added to the Idaho lead with his 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 2.
Lucas Coutinho clinched the match for the Vandals with a close 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (2) decision in No. 4 play.
Idaho closed out the sweep with wins from Kovacas,
Estaban Satnibanez and
Peter Shin.
The Vandals will head back out on the road on Sunday. Idaho will take on Georgia Southern from Abilene, Texas.
