EL MECERO, Calif. –

"This course is very fair but punishing of missed shots," coach
David Nuhn said. "That's the way it should be. We want to hit quality shots and best tested in the right ways."
Nuhn said, despite inclement weather adding to the degree of difficulty, he liked what he saw in his young team.
"I was really proud of the fight in them today," he said. "They battled all 18 holes."
He had particular praise for freshman J.T. Bloomer, who had a 75 Friday to pull into a tie for 55

"Two of his three scores counted for us," Nuhn said. "It's important to note that a freshman can come in and help us in that way."
