Vandals Close Out Regular Season

MOSCOW, Idaho—The Idaho women's tennis team finishes the regular season with two home matches this weekend. The men will travel to Portland State to round out its regular season.

The women will host Montana and Montana State in the final tune up to the Big Sky Tournament. The women open with the Lady Griz on Saturday. A win on Sunday against Montana State would clinch at first-round bye and the second seed at next weekend's championship. Idaho sits tied for second in the standings with MSU at 8-1. Northern Arizona has clinched the No. 1 seed with a 10-0 record.

Both matches for the women are set for 1 p.m. PT at the Memorial Gym Courts, weather pending. Saturday will be the team's Senior Day match. The Vandals will honor their lone senior Claire Yang prior to the match. Free t-shirts will be handed out to the public. Sunday there will be pizza provided at the match.

The men will take on Portland State on Saturday. The Vandals have clinched the No. 2 seed in the tournament with an 8-2 record. The Vikings figure to be out of the six-team field with a 2-8 record on the season.

The top six-teams in the conference standings qualify for the Big Sky Tournament. This season the field will head to Phoenix, Ariz. The tournament is set for April 27-29, with the 30th set aside for possible weather delays. The women will be looking for their third straight Big Sky title and fourth consecutive conference championship. The men will look to return to the championship match for the third straight season.
