Daley Earns BSC Recognition

Takes home Athlete of the Week honors

09/19/2017

OGDEN, Utah – Junior forward Bridget Daley has been recognized by the Big Sky Conference for her performance last week, earning Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Daley netted three goals over the weekend, including a pair of game-winners.  The junior scored twice in Idaho's come-from-behind win over Memphis, a team that was receiving votes in the national coaches' poll heading into the weekend.  The Tigers were also ranked No. 23 in the nation according to TopDrawerSoccer.

Her first came in the 76th minute, following up a rebound after a free kick, her first goal as a Division I athlete.  She followed that up with the game-winner in the 87th minute, cutting across the field and firing with her left foot to give Idaho the miraculous 5-4 win.  The Vandals had trailed 4-1 in the contest, but battled back with four goals over 20:04 to get the win.  Daley was back at it on Sunday, scoring what would prove to be the game-winner against Nevada as well.  She also added an assist.

Daley was also recognized by TopDrawerSoccer as a member of the Team of the Week, joining athletes from top-ranked programs like USC, North Carolina and Florida.

The Vandals finished non-conference play 4-4-1 and get Big Sky play started at home on Friday night against Northern Arizona.  The back-to-back Big Sky Regular Season Champions were picked to finish fourth in the annual coaches' poll.
