BOISE, Idaho— The Idaho women's tennis team took to the courts at Boise State in the Barb Chandler tournament, which will take place throughout the weekend, Oct 26-28.
 
Seven Vandals competed in the opening day of the Barb Chandler Classic on Friday.
 
Idaho dominated in the doubles as Laura Spataro/Maggie Chen and Maria Tavares/Shion Watabe defeated their counterparts in the Round of 16 Blue Draw, while Marta Magalhães /Anna Findley defeated a pair from Montana to advance to the semifinals in the orange draw.
 
In singles action, Spataro and Tavares were able to win their respective Rounds of 16 to advance to the quarterfinals. Spataro would later fall in her quarterfinals matchup to Boise State. In the Orange draw, Watabe topped ISU's Melissa Coburn, while Magalhães won her match over Montana State's Sarah Cheverie in the white draw.
 
Play will continue Saturday at the Appleton Tennis Center for the main draw, while the consolation draws will play at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center, the action starts at 9 a.m. at both facilities.
