@VandalsTennis Signs Three to NLI’s

MOSCOW, Idaho— Idaho men's tennis head coach Daniel Hangstefer announced three additions to the program during the early signing period. Vivek Ramesh, a native from North Carolina, Alejandro Sedeño and Francisco Perez Bascon from Spain all signed their letters of intent to continue playing tennis at Idaho.

"I am pleased with this initial set of signings," exclaimed Hangstefer! "These three guys all have significant strengths in certain areas that will help Idaho men's tennis."

Ramesh will join the Vandals as a freshman following his graduation ceremonies. Off the court, he attends Green Hope High School where he was the team captain of the Falcons. This past year the Falcons brought home the conference champions as Ramesh was named MVP.

The three-star recruit according to TennisRecruiting.net, is currently ranked no. 351 nationally, 95th in the southeast and eighth in North Carolina on the TR.net recruiting list. Ramesh has a 33-42 overall record.

"He's a great person," stated Hangstefer. "It was obvious during his visit that he was the right person for this program. He will definitely help us as we try to make a push for the next level."

Sedeño is the second recruit to commit to becoming a Vandal in 2019. He has competed in many International Tennis Federation (ITF) Pro Circuit events. In October, Sedeño competed in the ITF Portugal F19 Futures winning three matches to qualify for the event's main draw.

"Love his game," said Hangstefer. "He's a big hitter. He comes from a tennis family. He's got a lot of upside and potential. I'm looking forward to working with him!"

Bascon, the latest commit who hails from Spain, competed on the ITF Pro Circuit as well. He most recently performed in the ITF Spain F22 Futures where he went 1-1 in the qualifying draw. Along with Ramesh and Sedeño, Bascon will join the Vandals in the 2019-20 season.

"Francisco is a very talented Spaniard," said Hangstefer. "I am looking for him to contribute to the lineup in a major way."
