MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho women's golf will welcome Meghan Singh to the program next year, head coach
Lisa Johnson announced. Singh is a senior at Red Mountain High School in Mesa, Ariz., and will join the Vandals as a freshman for the 2019-20 season.

"Meghan is a terrific addition to our program," Johnson said. "We are impressed with her solid fundamentals, strong work ethic and excellent academic record."

As a senior, Singh helped the Lions to the East Valley Regional title and a fourth-place finish at the AIA Division I State Championships. Singh took 20th individually at the state tournament. She finished 31st as a junior, helping Red Mountain take third in the team standings.

Singh competes in tournaments throughout the United States as a member of the Junior Golf Association of Arizona. She was named the 2018 JGAA Player of the Year in the 15-18 age group after winning three tournaments and earning eight top-five finishes in nine events.

Her victories came at the IMG Academy Junior World Qualifier, the Phoenix City Junior Championship and the PING Arizona Junior Masters.

Singh spent her first two years of high school at Maui Preparatory Academy in Lahaina, Hawaii. She started the girls' golf team and qualified for the HHSAA State Tournament in 2016 and 2017, becoming Maui Prep's first state tournament participant.

A standout in the classroom, Singh was awarded the Donald S. Burns Scholarship for academic and athletic excellence. She was Maui Prep's first recipient of the scholarship, which is selected by the Donegan-Burns Foundation.

The Vandals will begin their spring season Feb. 25-26, at The Gold Rush in Long Beach, Calif. Idaho will look to defend its Big Sky championship at the conference tournament April 19-21.
