Cade Coffey and
Logan Floyd earned All-America honors from Phil Steele Magazine, the publication announced Friday. Coffey was selected as the punter on the All-America Third Team, while Floyd was tabbed a first-team Freshman All-American. The magazine also named five Vandals to its All-Big Sky team.
It is the third All-America honor of the year for Coffey, who was named second team by STATS and picked up honorable mention accolades on the HERO Sports Sophomore All-America Team. Coffey was also named to Phil Steele's All-Big Sky First Team. The Rathdrum, Idaho, native averaged 44.1 yards per punt to rank fifth in the FCS and help Idaho net 40 yards per punt – the best mark in the Big Sky and second best in the country. He booted 19 kicks of at least 50 yards, including a career-long 80-yard punt against Southern Utah that is tied for the second-longest punt of the year, nationally. Coffey was the USA Today Freshman All-America punter at the FBS level in 2017.
Floyd picked up the first postseason honor of his career, earning a spot on Phil Steele's Freshman All-America First Team. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Floyd started all 11 games for the Vandals as a true freshman in 2018, playing on 964 of 975 snaps. He was Idaho's highest-graded offensive lineman in three games, including his performance against Eastern Washington. The Kearns, Utah, native recorded 22 "Vandal Blocks," and five cut blocks. Isaiah Saunders, as 68 percent of Idaho's rushing plays were run in his direction.
