OGDEN, Utah - Idaho senior
Sophie Hausmann was named the Big Sky Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced Thursday. Hausmann finished tied for third at the BYU at Entrada Classic earlier this week, leading the Vandals to a third-place team finish. It is Hausmann's second weekly Big Sky award of the season and seventh of her career.
Hausmann earned her fourth top-five finish of the year by shooting an even-par 216 in the 54-hole tournament. She carded a pair of 1-under 71s to open and close the event. The senior has recorded eight rounds under par this year.
Idaho is back in action March 21-23, at the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. The Vandals have two more regular season tournaments on the schedule before defending their Big Sky Tournament title April 19-21, near Las Vegas.
Between the end of the regular season and the conference championship, Hausmann will participate in the Augusta National Women's Amateur. The 72-player field features the top female amateur golfers in the world. The event will take place April 3-6, at Champions Retreat Golf Club and Augusta National.
