MOSCOW, Idaho – The 2019 Ada County Vandal Scramble presented by First Interstate Bank is set for May 3-4, in Boise. The weekend includes a Friday night social at the Zions Bank Building and a Saturday golf tournament at Quail Hollow Golf Course. Vandal Athletics Hall of Famer Orlando Lightfoot will be the guest of honor at the event.
Â
Lightfoot was a two-time Big Sky Men's Basketball Player of the Year (1993, 1994) and, despite playing just three seasons with the Vandals, remains Idaho's all-time scoring leader with 2,102 points. After graduation, Lightfoot enjoyed a 14-year professional career in Europe.
Â
"I want to be part of something very meaningful to the Vandal Family," Lightfoot said of returning for the event. "This is a chance for me to not only support a great cause but to be present and connect with the Vandal community."
Â
Registration for the Ada County Vandal Scramble is now open. All proceeds benefit the University of Idaho's 300 student-athletes through the Vandal Scholarship Fund (VSF).
Â
Each team will be comprised of six paid players. Entry is $150 per person for current VSF members and $200 for non-VSF members. There is a discount available to golfers under the age of 40. Entry fee includes Friday Night Scholarship Auction Social, Saturday greens fees, golf cart, lunch, range balls, beverages, Vandal tee prize and Saturday evening awards.
