MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho ran into a scrappy Cal State Fullerton squad on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Titans in four sets.
Avery Housley and
Kennedy Warren led the way with 19 kills each.
Nikki Ball picked up five blocks and eight kills while hitting .357.
The first set needed a few extra points to decide a winner, with Fullerton eventually taking the set 27-25. The Vandals got out to a great start in the second, getting up by as many as six on multiple occasions. The Titans fought their way back, closing on an 11-2 run to take the set, 27-25.
The Vandals locked in for the third set. After a back-and-forth opening, Idaho tied things up at 15 on an ace from
Donnée Janzen, then took over. The Vandals would close the set on a 10-3 run to win, 25-18.
Idaho battled through the fourth set, but the Titans were just too much in the end, taking the set 25-23 to close out the match.
It's a quick turnaround for Idaho, as the Vandals will take on the Flames of Illinois-Chicago at 7 p.m.
