Idaho women's golf continues its busy start to the 2019-20 season by staying close to home for the WSU Cougar Cup. The Vandals will compete at Palouse Ridge Golf Course on the campus of Washington State, in nearby Pullman, Wash., in their second event of the season. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will feature two rounds Monday, beginning at 8 a.m. The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday, beginning at 7:45 a.m.

Fans are welcome to attend the event and support the Vandals. Idaho will remain nearby next week, competing at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational.

THE LINEUP: Idaho will continue with the same lineup as last week, led by
Valeria Patino.
Eddie Hsu,
Vicky Tsai,
Laura Gerner and
Danika Palm will represent the Vandals in the team scoring.
Grace Frazier and
Meghan Singh will also participate as individuals.

THE COURSE: Palouse Ridge Golf Club is located on the campus of Washington State University. The course will play at 6,239 yards and par 72 for this week's tournament. The course, which opened in August 2008, was named to Golfweek's Top College Courses list in 2014 and 2015 and has twice played host to an NCAA Men's Golf Regional.

THE FIELD: Idaho is part of a 15-team field at the WSU Cougar Cup, including host Washington State. The Vandals will also be joined by BYU, California, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Gonzaga, New Mexico, Oregon, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington.

LAST TIME OUT: Idaho opened the 2019-20 season last week at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, tying for 14th as a team. Junior
Valeria Patino was the top Idaho finisher, tying for 32nd. Patino opened the tournament with a 2-under 70, before finishing the event at 5-over. The tournament was the debut for first-year coach
Lisa Ferrero.
