MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Men's Tennis team will travel to Portland, Oregon to face the Portland Pilots on Saturday, Jan. 25
th at 10 a.m.
Idaho enters their third road contest of the season 1-1 overall after a 7-0 loss to Utah and 5-2 over Utah State last week.
Idaho will meet Portland for the 19
th time all-time on Saturday. The Pilots lead the series 12-6 all-time and have won the past four consecutive meetings. Idaho's last win over Portland was on Feb. 23
rd, 2013, 4-3.
Portland opens the 2020 season at home Friday against Portland State before facing the Vandals on Saturday. The Pilots finished 7-14 in 2019 and 2-7 in conference play.
For the Vandals,
Francisco Bascon leads the way so far. Bascon has played in the number one singles and doubles spot during both matches this season. Bascon fell to Franco Capalbo of Utah but defeated Utah State's Sergiu Bucur in the number one singles matches.

Esteban Santibanez have played in the number one doubels spot during both matches this season. The pair defeated Randy Cory and Rusell Benkaim of Utah 6-3 before taking down Utah State's Sergiu Bucur and Roko Savin 6-3.
Following the quick road trip, the Vandals will return home for three consecutive home matches beginning Feb. 7
th.
