HOUSTON, Texas – It's on to the postseason for Idaho swim and dive, with the Western Athletic Conference Championships coming up later this week in Houston. Competition begins on Wednesday, February 26, and continues through Saturday, Feb. 29 at the CRWC Natatorium. Events will be streamed live through FacebookLive and the WAC Digital Network.

The Vandals have enjoyed a tremendous season and have continued to improve throughout the year. Idaho is 3-0 in since the new year, including a pair of wins over conference foes, at Seattle U., and at home against New Mexico State.

A number of student-athletes are currently ranked in the top-10 and looking to score in their respective events.

Katie Hale is ranked in the top-10 in three events. Her time of 55.92 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke is the third best mark in the WAC this season, while her time of 26.52 seconds in the 50-back is the fourth best. She is also ranked 10
th in the 50-yard free after posting a season-best time of 23.75 seconds.

Brianna Lucien is also ranked in three events. She is projected sixth in both the 1000-yard freestyle (10:24.03) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:26.75). She is also ninth in the 500-yard free at 4:58.65.

Aimee Iwamoto is currently fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 2:17.84. She also enters the Championships ranked eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:03.85.

The freshman duo of
Rylie Jones and
Kaling Phung are each ranked in one event. Â Jones is fourth in the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best performance of 54.76 seconds, while Phung is ninth in the 50-yard backstroke at 27.12 seconds.

Last season, the Vandals finished fifth at the Championships.
