HOUSTON, Texas – Idaho swim and dive got out to a solid start at the Western Athletic Conference Championships on Wednesday and currently sit in a tie for fifth with 67 points.

Heather Carbon won the 1-meter dive consolation final with 254.85 points. Teammate
Hailey Faith took third with 243.15 points. Both moved up after the qualification round. Faith entered the final ranked 11
th after an opening score of 220.75, while Carbon was 12
th after scoring 218.60.

The relay squad of
Katie Hale,
Aimee Iwamoto,
Rylie Jones and
Natalie Crocker placed sixth in the 200-yard medley.Â
Brianna Lucien,
Alexa Teneyck, Crocker and
Katy Older also placed sixth, in the 800-yard freestyle relay. They finished with a time of 7:34.73.

Competition continues on Thursday with the 500-free at 10:57 a.m. Central, featuring Idaho's
Samantha Sentenn in the first heat, Teneyck in the second and Lucien in the fourth. 10 Vandals will later compete in the 200-yard individual medley, and nine more will take on the 50-yard free.
