MOSCOW, Idaho - For the first time this fall, Idaho Swim and Dive is back in the water.
After an offseason of recruiting and training, the Vandals are southbound for Caldwell to open the year in a dual meet with the College of Idaho for another year. They will hit the pool once again in year sixteen under head coach Dr. Mark Sowa, the most tenured helmsman at Idaho. The veteran coach is joined by returning assistants Elizabeth Levy and Wei Wei, who each helped propel the swimmers and divers, respectively, to another strong season in the water.
Coming off a season that featured numerous conference champions, rewritten record books, and appearances from divers Maya Salvitti and Amelia Ward at NCAA Zones, there's a lot of momentum for UI going into another year in the MPSF..
UI has opened fall competition with the Yotes each season dating back to 2022, starting the 2025-26 campaign on a high note with a 230-22 win in the series. The returner-heavy squad will be led by Marie Mason, who had a breakout sophomore campaign that culminated in First-Team All-MPSF honors at the individual medley, and Katy Foley, another reigning First-Team Honoree in the backstroke. Foley, Isabelle Borke, Holly Lenarz, and Courtney Crawford highlight returners for Idaho who made the relay teams among the best in the MPSF.
On the diving board, Ward comes back as the leader of the group after representing the Vandals in the 1M at NCAA Zones. The senior and SAAC rep is aided by the return of junior Saige Anderson as well as highly-touted freshmen Morgan Christian and Coco Rainey.
First events are scheduled to start at 10:00 AM MT / 9:00 AM PT.
