LEWISTON, Idaho— The Idaho men's tennis team (6-4, 2-0), picked up their second Big Sky win of the season, defeating Idaho State 4-3.
The Vandals won two out of three doubles matches to take the doubles point.
In singles play the Vandals fell behind 3-2 before winning the final two points, winning 4-3.
Guilherme Scarpelli and
Vivek Ramesh won the first doubles match, 6-1, over Yohann Prinesh and Kyle Hartman to give Idaho the edge.
After the Bengals took the second doubles match,
Francisco Bascon and
Esteban Santibanez defeated Lukas Ridemar Fynn Loshe in the No. 1 spot to clinch the doubles point.
In singles play Idaho State took the No.3 singles matchup to tie the match overall 1-1.
Bruno Casino put Idaho up 2-1 in the No.4 spot, defeating Yohann Prinsen, 7-6, 6-1.
Idaho State re-gained the lead 3-2 following wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.
Down 3-2 overall,
Guilherme Scarpelli tied the match 3-3 with a 7-6, 6-1 win over Gary Rendek in the No. 5 spot.
Vivek Ramesh clinched the match win in the No. 6 spot, defeating Kyle Hartman 6-1, 7-5.
