The Vandals open the home schedule on September 5 against Western Oregon before hitting the road for a full month. Starting with the 112
th Homecoming, against Portland State in the Dome on Oct. 10, the Vandals will play 4-of-5 at home, including against Montana on Oct. 24. Idaho will also host Northern Arizona during Hall of Fame Weekend, on Oct. 31, with the newest class of Vandals getting enshrined the night prior. The home schedule ends on Nov. 7 against Southern Utah for Parent & Family Weekend.
"We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation throughout the summer with the health and safety of everyone in mind. We are working with direction from the NCAA as well as university guidance in collaboration with Public Health," Gawlik added. "Should any changes be made to the 2020 schedule we'll be quick to communicate those to you."
Idaho brings back a ton of talent from last year's squad. The list includes five All-Big Sky selections, including First Team honorees
Christian Elliss and
Nick Romano. The coaching staff has been hard at work in the offseason retooling the roster and bringing in a ton of new talent, including several Gem State-products.
"It was a really good class, rated the (fifth) best class in FCS," said head coach,
Paul Petrino. "It's a good class, our assistant coaches did a great job. You can look at it and see what we emphasized. Last year we went out and got a lot of skill guys on offense and a lot of big guys on defense, so we kind of did the opposite this year. It's two really good classes back-to-back."
