MOSCOW, Idaho – Arianna Bush and Brandon Hodge have been named this week's Vandals of the Week for their performance inside the classroom. Even in unpredictable times, Bush and Hodge both made adjustments to the new online learning style and achieved academic success.
Bush, a criminology major and a freshman jumper for the track and field team, earned a 4.0 GPA in her first semester as a Vandal.
"My favorite class was the gender and crime class," said Bush. "I loved the way my professor taught and was just an overall an interesting class."
Bush also added that she wants to pursue a career as a homicide detective.
Hodge, a double major in finance and applied statistics on the men's tennis team, was honored with the ITA Scholar-Athlete by having a 3.69 cumulative GPA this past Spring. He also earned a 4.0 GPA last semester.
"I made a day schedule with my roommate to make sure we were on top of everything," Hodge added. "It was really easy to miss assignments if you were not paying attention to the online due dates."
Bush and Hodge are both honored for their academic recognition and look to continue their academic excellence this Spring.
"It means a lot to me," Bush said. "I work really hard and sometimes it feels like it goes unnoticed, but I am really happy it was recognized."
"I appreciate it a lot," said Hodge "I try hard to get good grades, not only for myself but to please my parents and make the team look good."
