Warren, Garvin Named Vandals of the Week

MOSCOW, Idaho – This week's Vandals of the Week are junior Kennedy Warren and senior Chance Garvin for their continued academic success through unpredictable circumstances.

Warren, a junior middle blocker for the volleyball team, has achieved a 3.82 cumulative GPA even through a change in academics due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I make very detailed to-do lists," said Warren. "Time management is crucial especially right now with everything going on in the world."

"The most challenging part is having to adapt to the new way things are because normally in the Spring we have more off time,"

Warren plans to go to physical therapy school after Idaho to become a physical therapist.

Garvin, a guard for the Vandal's basketball team, has maintained a 3.0 GPA through his last four semesters.

"One thing I've learned from playing basketball is discipline," Garvin said. "I have recognized that my last two years, and I am more disciplined in the classroom now than I ever was."

Garvin is studying communications and is unsure of his future plans.

Both student-athletes appreciated the honor as they enjoyed not having their hard work in the classroom go unnoticed.

"It means a lot to me," added Warren. "We work just as hard in the classroom than on the court, if not harder to maintain high GPA's. It is very humbling to be honored for such a thing."

"It means a lot to me because during my first two semesters I didn't take it as serious as I do now," said Garvin. "It nice to be recognized from the last few years."
