Box Score SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Idaho picked up their third road win of the season, defeating Sacramento state 4-3.
The Vandals won two of three doubles sets to take the doubles point and a 1-0 lead in the match.
Adam Taylor and
Alejandro Salvador Civera won 6-2 in the No.3 doubles spot to give Idaho an early advantage.
After the No. 3 win,
Francisco Bascon and
Matteo Masala dropped the No. 1 match, 3-6.
Althaf Dhaifullah and
Bruno Casino clinched the doubles point, winning 6-4 in the No. 2 spot.
In singles play Idaho split wins with the Hornets, winning three of six.
Masala added the second point of the match for Idaho, winning 6-2,6-0, in the No. 2 spot.
Casino gave the Vandals their third point of the match with a 0-6, 6-3, 6-2 win in the No. 3 singles match.
Ahead 3-2,
Alex Asenov clinched the match win in the No.6 spot, 6-4, 6-3, as the Vandals took the match 4-3.
"It was great to see the team bounce back," said Head Coach
Daniel Hangstefer. "Today was a great team effort. We had a couple of new faces in the lineups today too, and it was great to see them get wins for the team."
Up Next: The Vandals will return to Idaho next week, taking on LCSC on Mar. 28, in Lewiston.
