Vandals Fall at EWU

Box Score CHENEY, Washington – The University of Idaho women's tennis fell to Eastern Washington, 4-3, on Saturday to open Big Sky play. The Vandals fell to 2-6 on the season and 0-1 in the Big Sky.

Melissa Huchet and Laura Spataro defeated the Eagles in the No. 1 doubles spot to begin the match.

Saffron Dowse and Marta Maglahaes earned a win in the No. 3 doubles spot, giving the Vandals the doubles point.

After going ahead 1-0, the Vandals dropped four matches in singles play.

Katherine Jhang and Maggie Chen earned the only wins for Idaho in singles.

Jhang won 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, in No.3 singles while Chen won 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, in the No. 4 spot.

Up Next: Idaho will continue Big Sky play in Lewiston next week against Portland State on April 10, at 1 p.m.
