MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandals are to play their second and final exhibition game of the 2021 season on Friday evening. The Vandals will play at Washington State University in the Kibbie Dome, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m.

FOLLOW: Admission is free. Per university policy, face coverings are required for all individuals.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS: Washington State was picked fifth in the recently released Pac-12 Preseason Coaches Poll. Five fifth-year seniors return for the Cougs, including last season's leading scorer, Elyse Bennett. In the spring 2021 season, WSU was 6-3-3 overall, while finishing conference play 2-2-3.  

SCOUTING THE VANDALS: Idaho returns 22 letterwinners, including eight starters, from the Spring 2021 season. After being picked to finish seventh, the Vandals were 5-3 in Big Sky play, earning a spot in the conference tournament after clinching the No. 2 spot in the Northwest Division. Taylor Brust, who was named to the All-Big Sky Second Team last year, returns to anchor the backline, while Margo Schoesler is back after earning Honorable Mention accolades after an impressive freshman season.  

SERIES HISTORY: Washington State leads the all-time series, 13-1. Idaho is 1-5 in home Battle of the Palouse games. The teams last met in the spring 2021 season, with the Cougs taking a 3-0 victory over the Vandals.  

PRESEASON: Friday's match hosting Washington State will be the second of two exhibition games for the Vandals in 2021. The regular season begins on Friday, August 20, when the Vandals travel to Fargo to play North Dakota State University.
