SEDONA, Ariz. – Valeria Patino birdied four of her last six holed to finish with a three-under 69 to lead the Idaho Vandal women's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the Red Rocks Invitational with a three-round team score of 890.
Patino finished 12th in the individual standings, one stroke back of a Top-10 finish with a three-round score of 218.
Vicky Tsai and
Eddie Hsu both carded a one-over 73s to help the Vandals finish with a team score of 292, the third-best round of the year for the Vandals.
Tsai finished tied for 17th with a three-round score of 221 and Hsu finished tied for 28th with a three-round score of 224.
Jenna Bruggeman finished tied for 54th with a score of 231 and
Yvonne Vinceri finished tied for 56th with a score of 232.
Grand Canyon took the team title, tournament host NAU was second, Weber State was third. Idaho finished in front of Big Sky teams Southern Utah (11th), Montana (13th), Portland State (15th), Northern Colorado (17th) and Montana State (19th).
The Vandals next play at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Classic at the Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona, on April 4-5.
