MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho women's tennis head coach
Sanne Louwers announced the signing of Lena Beckx to a National Letter of Intent. Beckx becomes the first official recruit to sign under Louwers.

Sanne Louwers said. "She comes with lots of tournament experience and with the work ethic that is needed to continue to build a successful program. We look forward to having her start in the fall."Â
Beckx is a native of Rotterdam, Netherlands, where she went on to post an impressive prep career. Beckx was ranked as high as a No. 5 in the country at the U16 level and has recorded berths to the semi-final and finals of multiple national junior tournaments.
In 2021, Beckx became the youngest player in Katwijk Open tournament history to be named singles champion at level two. She went on to record top finishes in the U18 doubles finals at the ITF Junior World Rankings Tournament in Stavanger and clinched a U18 semi-finals berth in doubles at the Dutch Championship in 2021.Â
Beckx plans to graduate from her HAVO high school in the spring of 2022 and has interest in studying Psychology & Sociology or Communications when she enrolls at the University of Idaho in the fall.
