Sarah Schmitt joins the Vandals after two seasons at UNK under Coach Eighmey's reign. Before UNK, she played two seasons at the University of Nebraska Omaha. The graduate student will use her last year of eligibility to play for the Vandals during the 2023-24 season.

"Sarah is a tough and talented guard that will add valuable experience and knowledge to our team next year," said Coach Eighmey. "She makes great decisions with the ball and can score it in multiple ways. We trust her ability to run a team's offense while being an asset on the defensive end as well. We are thrilled she has decided to be a Vandal!"

In her last season at UNK, Sarah was dubbed All-MIAA Honorable Mention, MIAA Scholar Athlete, and was on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. She was one of four Lopers to start all 33 games and led the team with 31.8 minutes per game. She averaged 10 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. The 5'8" guard finished the season shooting 72% at the line and 47% from the field while leading the team in assists with 128. Schmitt scored a career-high of 26 points at Newman, going 10-19 from the field and 5-7 from beyond the arc.

As a redshirt sophomore, Schmitt played in 28 games with seven starts, averaging 21 minutes per game. Coming off the bench, she was tied for second on the team with 57 assists on the season and averaged 5.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.

At UNO, Sarah appeared in 36 games during her two seasons. In her sophomore season, she averaged 6.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. Schmitt scored in the double digits in six games, including 18-point efforts vs. North Dakota and Northern Colorado.

The Swisher, Iowa native attended high school at Cedar Rapids Prairie where she was named All-District three times and was tabbed an All-Metro and All-League pick. Schmitt left high school as the record holder for assists in a game (nine) and three made in a season (41).

Georgia GrayGeorgia Gray | 6'3" | Forward | Dodge City CC | Melbourne, Australia

Georgia Gray joins the Vandals after two seasons at Dodge City Community College in Kansas at the JUCO level. The junior has two years of eligibility remaining to compete for the Vandals.

"Georgia is a great fit for our program and will provide much needed size and physicality in the paint," said Coach Eighmey. "Her ability to defend and be a rim protector will be extremely valuable for us. Her willingness to do the little things and embrace physicality are qualities that we look for in our forwards. We are confident in her ability to be a presence on the offensive end and can't wait for Vandal nation to see it!"

In her last season at Dodge City CC, Gray appeared in all 33 games for the Conquistadors and started all but three games. Gray averaged 19.8 minutes and 7.5 points per game. The 6'3" forward grabbed 154 total rebounds on the season, with 54 coming off the offensive board, averaging 4.7 per game.

During Gray's freshman season, she appeared in all but one game for the Conquistadors and started 29 of the 31 games. Gray averaged 16.7 minutes and 4.5 points per game. Defensively, Gray notched nine steals, eight blocks, and 87 rebounds.
