MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho Track and Field completed the final day of the 2024 Lauren McCluskey Memorial this afternoon in the P1FCU Kibbie Dome with six first-place finishers. The Vandals also began the morning by honoring their seniors in their only home meet of the season.
Following her silver-medal performance from the Friday night weight throw, sophomore
Mia Sylvester picked up another second-place finish in the women's shot put (13.82m).
Senior
Ellie Grant completed a podium finish at second place in the women's triple jump. Her 11.79m mark is a new personal record.
In the men's triple jump,
Simone Fedel scored a second medal in 2024 jumping 14.35m, the fourth farthest in the Big Sky this year.
Spencer Barrera was next to reach the podium in the men's 400m crossing the tape in second. Sophomore
Jon Watkins finished in eighth (50.45).
Noah Culbertson captured another gold medal in the men's shot put at 17.10m. The junior holds the two best distances in the conference this year (17.45m at last week's Spokane Sports Showcase). Culbertson has two first-place finishes in his first two meets in 2024.
Prabhasha Wickramaraachchi earned the first gold medal for the Vandals on the day. The senior ran a personal best 56.18 in the women's 400m. The 56.18 mark is the third fastest time in the Big Sky this year.
Olivia Martin finished third (56.72) with
Franziska Stoehr just a frame behind at 56.75 in fourth.
Lorenz Herrmann earned yet another gold medal completing the men's 800m at 1:51.39, the third best time in the conference in 2024.
Gage Zanette took fourth (1:54.03) and
Shea Mattson fifth (1:54.85).
Jurrian Hering followed up with another gold medal for the Vandals in the men's 60 meter hurdles. His 7.96 mark was the second fastest time in the conference this year and just 0.01 short of a personal record.
Deyondre Davis also reached the podium running an 8.22 for third place.
Zac Bright defended his title as the men's 600m champion. The junior finished first at a 1:19.65 mark, just 0.48 seconds short of his personal best from last year's Lauren McCluskey Memorial where he also captured a gold medal finish.
Camryn Crouch completed the women's 60m finals crossing the tape in fourth. Her 7.56 time is the second best in the Big Sky in 2024.
For the men,
Jemini Archer closed out the men's 60m in third place. The senior has continually achieved PR's this season with yet another new personal record of 6.83, tied for the second fastest in the conference this year. He also stands tied at fourth in Vandal history.
The men's 4x400m relay team of
Spencer Barrera,
Deyondre Davis,
Lorenz Herrmann, and
Jon Watkins earned silver medal honors at a 3:16.04 mark.
Belen Garcia Arias, Martin, Stoehr, and Wickramaraachchi secured their first gold medal of the year finishing the women's 4x400m relay at 3:47.04, just under three seconds shy of their personal best as a squad.
Next weekend, the Vandals head back to The Podium in Spokane, Washington for the Inland Northwest Invitational on Saturday, January 27th.
