FARMINGTON, Utah – Four Idaho Vandals were honored by the Big Sky Conference when the All-Conference honorees were announced Tuesday.
Annika Farley and
Izzy Thoma were named to the Big Sky Conference First Team while
Georgia Whitehead earned Second Team honors and
Sara Rodgers received Honorable Mention honors.
Farley is one of just two players to repeat as a First-Team All-Conference honoree. She has scored four goals this season while setting the tone for the Vandals defense that has allowed just 18 goals this season.
Joining Farley on the first team is Thoma. She has played all but 13 minutes this season for the Vandals at the defender position. Her leadership helped the Vandals maintain a solid defense all year, leading to a league tying eight shutouts.
Whitehead came into the season as a transfer defender but was moved to forward for the Vandals and make a big impact. She scored three goals and added three assists for the Vandals this season, including two goals against Sacramento State and a game-winner against UC Riverside. For her efforts, she was named to the second team.
Rodgers closed the season with three goals in the last four games. She scored four of her team-leading five goals during conference play. Rodgers is third on the team in minutes and leads the Vandals with 11 points on the year.
The Vandals open Big Sky Championship play Wednesday against Portland State at 1 p.m. Pacific in Missoula, Montana.
