MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho track and field closes their 2025 indoor regular season with three meets on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15. The Vandals are competing against some of the best teams in the nation at meets in Seattle and Spokane, Washington, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Don Kirby Elite Invitational
Mia Sylvester and
Tesse Kamps are set to participate in the women's weight throw on Friday and the shot put on Saturday. Sylvester currently holds the top spot in the Big Sky in the women's weight throw, after a mark of 19.24 meters at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial. The junior still ranks third in the conference in the shot put, posting a season best 14.83 meter throw last weekend at the Riverfront Invite. Kamps looks to continue her impressive freshman campaign in Albuquerque, as the Bozeman, Montana resident ranks 12th in the shot put.
Jesuye Doherty will compete in the long jump Friday, after extending his advantage in the Big Sky rankings last weekend with a personal best jump of 7.60 meters.
Shawn Twumasi Ampofo set the best triple jump mark in the conference at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial, 15.12, and will compete in the event again in New Mexico on Saturday.
Rhyan Madden and
Lara Holzhauer are slated to run in the 200 on Friday at 2:55 p.m. Madden currently holds the 16th fastest time at the distance in the conference in 2025, as it will be Holzhauer's first attempt at the 200 this season. Holzhauer also competes in the 800 on Saturday for the second time this season.
Four Vandals are racing in the 400;
Blossom Omogor,
Franziska Stoehr,
Maiya Brunoro, and
Alyssa Marsh. All four currently rank in the top-20 in the Big Sky at the distance. In total, Idaho has five athletes with top-20 times in the women's 400, tied with Northern Arizona for the most.
Idaho will also run a team in the women's 4x400 meter relay, an event they have found success in this season, as the Vandals currently hold the third fastest time in the conference.
Husky Classic
Leah Holmgren is scheduled to compete in the 800 at the Husky Classic in Seattle. The last time the senior visited the Dempsey Indoor Track on the University of Washington campus, she posted a 2:13.08, the eighth fastest Big Sky time this season. Holmgren will race at 12:55 Saturday.
Annika Jozin and
Cami Cvitkovich both have worked their way into the top six in the conference in the high jump. Last weekend in Spokane, Jozin jumped over the bar set at 1.73 meters, a career best, putting her in a tie for the fourth best jump in the Big Sky. Cvitkovich, a freshman, set her personal best in January, leaping to 1.72 meters, sixth best in the conference. Both will compete at 3 p.m. Friday.
Amanda Muñoz set her season best in the triple jump at the Riverfront Invitational, with a mark of 11.71 meters. Muñoz and Francesca Cuccú will both be participating in the event beginning at 3 p.m. Friday.
Zac Bright,
Jan Bremer, and
Luca Wagner will all be representing Idaho in the 800 on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The trio are all placed in the top-10 in the conference, with Bright holding the fastest time by a Big Sky athlete at 1:50.44. Idaho is the only school to have three runners in the top-10 of the men's 800.
Whitworth Invitational
In the shot put,
Noah Culbertson,
Weston Jeffries, and
Reid Thomas are all scheduled to throw starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. Culbertson is currently placed sixth in the Big Sky, after a throw of 16.80 meters at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial. Jeffries and Thomas have posted the 15th and 16th best marks, respectively. Jeffries and Thomas will also be competing in the weight throw on Friday at 4 p.m.
These are Idaho's final meets before the 2025 Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships in Flagstaff, Arizona. The conference meet is scheduled for February 27th through March 1st.
